Disable hibernation windows 10

The biggest difference between this network and one that I have managed from the get-go is that I always turn off sleep after initially setting up a computer, before joining to the domain. I check the power settings, and sleep options don't even show up there, but the event log conclusively shows the system is automatically going to sleep due to being idle. However, even with these settings, the system still goes to sleep. Allow standby states (S1-S3) when sleeping - Disabled Allow automatic sleep with open network files - Disabled I made the following changes to the Default Domain Policy - Computer Configuration - Policies - Administrative Templates - System/Power Management/Sleep Settings No problem, I've set sleep via group policy plenty of times. I came to the conclusion that the old out of date unlicensed antivirus package was keeping the computer awake due to activity or updates and preventing it from going to sleep. When I uninstalled this and moved them to a cloud platform for antivirus, computers that before were always on now kept going to sleep. It had an old unlicensed centrally managed antivirus software that would detect threats, but since they never bought the license, it would just log them and never remove them.

The one that most closely matches my scenario is here (but it got closed without an resolution) -Įssentially, I inherited a network that was pretty sloppily done. So, this problem has been asked before, but never answered.
